‘Rush hour morning traffic slowed and a kitten flew out of a car's engine compartment’: Cat pawrent heroically saves kitten during freeway rush hour, names him ‘Mr. Wiggles’ and appoints him as their home office manager

In many of the cat saving stories we feature here, the cat in question is discovered in a rather gradual way. Perhaps a meow is heard off in the distance, or the rescuer hears some rustling coming from a garbage can. But in this story, our feline in need of saving literally leapt out of a car. Getting the story off to a high speed, high energy pace that slowly settles down as the cat child settles into their new home with a family who was willing to risk their safety on a busy freeway to save the life of this lovely kitten.

But perhaps what is most surprising is that this cat child decided that it would not be enough to simply allow his rescuers to love him as repayment for their kind act. He decided that he needed to actually do something in return, and so became his new hooman's office manager. Ensuring that they make it to work on time while working from home, and even encouraging them to put in some extra hours on the weekend.

    1D had surgery to repair his ankle and is doing well. He's starting to put his foot down occasionally. He's very spoiled. When he came home from surgery, it was obvious that he knew he was home.

    Also, we realized that he was thrown from a vehicle, not hiding in the engine. We wouldn't have ever saw him if he'd been in the engine and he wouldn't have been above trunk level. The complete shock we were in made us not

    1D is now named Mr. Wiggles. He's a healthy and happy kitten. He is about 4 months old and weighs 7lbs. He's not fat; he's big!

    would wiggle when he needed to get down or didn't want to be picked up. There's a possibility that we'll change his name, but for now, it's Mr. Wiggles and his government name (vet record) is 1D.

  • We have to say that is not often at all that we see a cat child fully doing their best to repay the favor that their rescuer did for them. And it is heckin heartwarming, even if there is an undertone of ‘you better work hooman so that you can keep buying me treats’.
